Colin Braun E-Newsletter: NASCAR Nationwide Series US Cellular 250
Iowa Speedway
Newton, Iowa
Saturday, July 31, 2010

WELCOMING BACK 3M IN IOWA - This weekend will mark the first of two races this season where Colin Braun will pilot the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion, the second being at Circuit Gilles Villenueve at the end of August. A Roush Fenway Racing partner since 2005, 3M sponsored Braun in his Nationwide Series debut at Memphis in 2007 as well as two other races throughout his career. Currently, 3M sponsors the No. 16 Ford driven by Greg Biffle in the Sprint Cup Series.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY FOR BRAUN AND NO. 16 TEAM - Braun and the No. 16 team have shown a great deal of consistency over the past seven races. Since his first top-10 of the season at Dover, Braun has two additional top-10s and six top-12s in his last seven starts. He finished 12th last weekend at O'Reilly Raceway Park after starting seventh.
BRAUN AT IOWA - While it is his first Nationwide Series start at the .875-mile short track, Braun has made one start at Iowa Speedway last season in the Camping World Truck Series. After starting fourth, the rookie finished third.

ROUSH FENWAY RACING AT IOWA - As last year was the first trip to Iowa Speedway for the Nationwide Series, Roush Fenway Racing has three starts with one top-five finish and one pole award. The top-five was tallied by Carl Edwards while Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started from the pole .

IOWA CHASSIS SELECTION - Crew chief Rick Viers has selected RK-354 for this weekend's US Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway. The last time Braun was in this car was at Texas Motor Speedway where he started 11th and finished 13th, which was his highest finish at that point in the season. Brian Ickler also drove this chassis in his Roush Fenway Racing debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May and finished 15th.

QUOTES
Braun, on his season and going to Iowa Speedway:

"I really enjoy racing at Iowa Speedway and I'm thrilled to have 3M on board for the race this weekend. This team has really had a good run over these past few races and I'm excited to see what we can do here in Iowa. We are so close to meeting one of our team goals of getting into the top-15 in owner points and I think we can reach that this weekend. This No. 16 team has come a long way since the start of the year and we just keep building on our finishes and I'm still constantly learning what I need to do to make these cars go fast and drive a smart, complete race."

Crew chief Rick Viers, on the No. 16 team's progress:
"In the last six races we have moved from 23rd to 16th in owner points and we are only 29 points out of 14th. So as a team we have one of our goals in sight which was to break into the top-15 in owner's points. I think we have a very real chance at doing that this weekend in Iowa. It's great to have 3M on board as well this week. Colin ran very well in Iowa with his truck last year and we have a strong car for this race also."
